We had only two hours, which definitely was not enough. What we saw, however, whet our appetite for a return visit. We began at the visitor's center with the video and the exhibit, then went on to the Indian Village, where we were greeted by an absolutely voluble docent who was eager to share his knowledge with us. We then... More

I graduated from St. Mary's College, so I had a lot of time in St. Mary's City and fell in love with this area before I attended the college. It is a beautiful, fun place to explore and see how things were done back in the 1600's until the present. My favorite location to visit is the old Statehouse and... More

St. Mary's City is great to visit in the Spring and Fall when things are quiet. It is a lovely walking tour of Maryland history. The museum is very accessible and it is a good place to take kids, because you don't have to worry about them breaking things, making too much noise, running about. Everything is out in the... More

Beautiful, quaint town and college. The exhibits and the cemetery and great for getting a sense of the history. Very pretty water views. Nice scenic drive. I have been here 5 or 6 times. More

A great informative museum and walking tour of the partially restored colonial capital of Maryland without the high cost or crowds of Colonial Williamsburg. Each time we visit there's something new to see. More

This is a slice of our country that you rarely find...the re-creation of an area that early. We thoroughly enjoyed it...should have allowed more time. Because it gets dark early after daylight saving time ends. Everyone was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.. Loved that you could get on the ship the "Dove", small and wonderful. Wonderful views of the Potomac River.... More

The staff acts out their parts as 16th century residents very well. We especially liked the recreation of the church on the south end. Very eerie thinking about all the burials that were done there and forgotten. More
