With the big national museums so close, we never expected this little gem in College Park. The docents are all very knowledgeable and many have military flying history to color their stories. There is easy parking, so bringing the minivan filled with young ones is car seats is very doable. Several displays are geared to young ones, and all ages... More

The museum and family oriented and appropriate for very young to elderly. It is easy to get too and a lot less stressful than going to Air and Space in DC

For the price ($4 adults and $2 children), this is a good attraction with free parking. It gives an insight into the early days of American aviation and the interactive exhibits are good for children

The CPAA doesn't attempt to match what is available at the National Air and Space Museum on the National Mall and the Udvar-Hazy museum near Dulles Airport. However, as many have pointed out , it is a great hands-on musueum, great for kids and in many respects, probably more fun for children(especially younger ones) than the two larger museums mentioned,... This is a small museum but it is a great size for a preschool or elementary aged kid trip to learn about and see small planes.

Small museum with not a great amount of materials. Good for children. It pays attention to the Wright Brothers who flew at the airport

This museum is 80% hands ON! There are activities, video games, a plane to climb in and a great staff to show you around! It is better fitting for the YOUNGER kids with things like coloring and stamping and 6 piece plane puzzles. Slightly older kids can enjoy the video games and everyone loves sitting in an old plane :)... More

So fun for me and my three children. An older gentleman volunteer welcomed us with some interesting historical information about the airport and some of the pieces on display. He was so excited and knowledgeable. Lots of interactive things. My kids loved getting dressed in bomber jackets, scarves, helmets and goggles and then going and sitting in the blue plane... More

Many aircraft are displayed showing the history of flight since the Wright Brothers, who made an historic attempt at the College Park airfield nearby. Hands-on activities for children. Trained volunteers are eager to share their knowledge.

My boys ages 11 and 14 like this place. We ate breakfast at Ikea and then headed over to the museum for a few hours of history and activities. There is an interesting flight simulator and other hands on things to keep you busy. The history is presented in an interactive way with video and buttons to push. There's stuff... More
