We stopped on our way to Ogunquit as we had heard this is one of the most photographed lighthouses and we now see why. Best of course to go on a weekday during the summer, this pennisula has breathtaking views of the ocean and the famous lighthouse. There is a visitor center there and this spot is popular with scuba... More

Must be hard to get your groceries there, given the only way of getting there is with a little cable car on a rope, dangling over the water... Hope they have a boat as well at the other side of the island! It's really pretty and a prime visiting spot. A good clam chowder is being served at the little... More

Every year since I was little my family would spend a day in Maine and head to Nubble Light to climb on the rocks and grab a bite to eat. As one of six kids, my mother and father had their hands full making sure they kept track of us all. My mother always cautioned us not to climb on... More

When I first came to this area it was evening and I saw the light from the lighthouse; being curious made my way to it only to see this spectacle of beauty. The sea roses formed a perimeter; the sunset light and crashing waves on the rocky ledges, and the quaint pristine Americana architecture of the little island, the light... More

Stunning. The photos don't due it justice. Nice little stroll around the shore - light house is located on inaccessible island. Cooling ocean breezes. Nice way to spend a hour sitting, relaxing - meditating. Peaceful even with the crowds.

Nubble Light is a great spot for a wedding (my sister was married there) or just a relaxing afternoon. There is a small gift shop and a seafood restaurant with outside tables. This is probably one of the most photographed places in Maine! Enjoy!

Absolutely one of most beautiful sights I've seen. Watching the waves crash against the cove, the birds perched on the rocks, the stately lighthouse that sits on top - truly breathtaking a must see if you're ever in York.

Breathtaking and amazing sums it up. It is so beautiful, it is like looking at a painting or a postcard. When you first turn the corner and see it....it will honestly take your breath!

If you want to see coastal Maine lighthouses in a day, this is a good place to start. We have done this road trip 3 times now, bringing different family members each time. Start by driving along York Beach, it's absolutely beautiful. Even take a quick stop to walk the wide sand along the beach, then hop back into the... More

'nuff said. Go see it, and bring your camera. Be advised that the water is kuh-hold, though. That doesn't seem to stop people from swimming, but I was not one of those people. Also, you can't go into the lighthouse, but that doesn't stop it from being beautiful.
