Prime time for this oasis is June when all the azaleas are in bloom, but really it's a beautiful place all summer and fall as well. You will see a wide variety of flowers, shrubs and trees. There's also a pond with koi and ducks. There are benches where you can rest or meditate. Be sure to bring your camera.

We took out two grandchildren to the Asticou Gardens and had them pose around the beautiful flowers and shrubs. As teenagers you might expect that they would object, but they loved it and to this day cherish the summer pictures in Arcadia. This past summer my wife and I went back after enjoying a wonderful lunch at the hotel. everything... More

This is truly a beautiful garden to visit, but especially in June, when the azaleas are in full bloom.

This is a superb small garden with a remarkable history. Almost every square foot shows genius. When I visited nothing was blooming, but nevertheless the overall effect was overwhelming in harmony, subtlety and conception. The 2 main creators Savage and more recently Chasse', have accomplished something unique and exceptional, by blending plants originally from Reef Point, strong indigenous elements, and... More

I have visited Asticou Garden once or twice before this year. I think it gets lovelier each time I've visited. In September, when I visit each year --there is just the hint of leaf change beginning to occur. At Asticou this year --it seemed to be happening there a little before other places on the island. The trees were just... More

We were on our way back from Northeast Harbor and stopped at this little garden. It is very pretty but no more breathtaking than any other gardens we've been to. Granted, we visited in August 2012, so the azaleas were bare by then. If you're looking for a place just to sit and meditate or enjoy the greenery, this is... More

These Japanese gardens are a treasure. We were there in August and had the place to ourselves. As with any Japanese garden, the views from everywhere were spectacular.

Ask for a $5 per person contribution. Nothing was blooming and I wouldn't go again. Thuya gardens much prettier. This was a Japanese style garden.

It would be nice to see everything in bloom, but it's still a wonderful place to go. Close to the Northeast harbor. Very peaceful

We were out for a drive today and stopped by the gardens to take a few pictures and sit for a moment or two....It is so peaceful and serene that we sat for 20 minutes or so before I realized I hadn't lifted the camera! If you haven't been there, do your heart, mind and soul a favor and stop... More
