Reid State Park lies on the Eastern bank of the outlet of Kennebec River and consists of several miles of beautiful sandy beaches, rocky escarpments, and back beach estuary environments with many birds (including the critically threatened piping plovers whose nesting sites are protected). In the last year a new beach house with excellent bathrooms has been erected. This beach... More

I went to Reid State Park today, not knowing what to expect, then I started down the first trail and wow! The view was gorgeous! There are different paths, easily accessible, clean...such a great place to spend the day! A great place to take photos! It was not crowded, I am guessing that is because it is so early in... More

This is an excellent place to visit and to bring visitors who don't get to the ocean often. If you enjoy photography, this is a very photogenic park indeed. It has the best of all possible worlds as it has three distinct areas: a rocky coastline area complete with tide pools and even picnic tables just above the rocks; a... More

Great place to spend a day on the coast of Maine. Bring your lunch but guard it carefully and don't feed the birds! Lots of walking trails and great coastal photo opportunities in any season!

Cold Water Beach no matter what time of the year. Sometimes it is infested with what the natives call Moose Flies. Yes, they bite! It is a long walk from the parking lot to the beach area. The only good thing about the beach was it was clean, other than the piles of bug infested seaweed that was all over... More

This is the place. My husband & I have always loved to walk on the beach here. In fact, during one of our early walks before we were married, we took shelter among the rocks and he went down on his knees, pulled out the ring box, and popped the question. I could not have wished for a more romantic... More

I have mixed feelings about telling people that this is one of the most enchanting places on earth. I don't want it to get crowded.

Parking is no problem, doesn't cost much to get in and whether you want to lay in the sun, swim or just walk the beach, this would be the place.
