We opted for the trolley like ride and it was interesting, but not a great value. There was little access or opportunity to check things out. We were very disappointed, not what we expected, More

I went here as a child. It was one of the hottest days of the summer. It is exactly like a desert! Very interesting, I must say! More

My young adult daughter and I planned a day of visiting a couple of Maine attractions we had never seen, including the Desert of Maine. Could not find the price anywhere - told at the cashier - $10.50 per person. Pricey for a short tour and barn attraction. It was interesting, though I would not gone had I known the... More

Well..it's one of those things - you get what you pay for! The price is definitely not unreasonable for the tour. The guide pulls a little covered wagon thing with seats (it was clean but seats were not padded in any way). You go along to a couple of stops, the guide narrates along the way. You get to get... It is a desert. It is a nice day out with the family. If you only do the tour it is short and sweet maybe 30 minutes in length. I wish the guide would have stopped at certain points so you could get pictures but instead he just pointed things out. The barn could use a tad more lighting but... More

We went to see the Desert of Maine in Freeport. The tour was very interesting and informative. The price was very reasonable and included lots of other things, like a butterfly room and a tour of an old barn with old farm equipment. I would recommend seeing the Desert of Maine if you are in the area More
