I had booked Margaret Todd sunset cruise on Saturday morning (June 11) on phone for that day. Couple of hours later the weather started deteriorating and I decided to cancel the trip since I had an infant baby and elderly parents with me. I called up and the guy at the other side said they'll deduct 7% of my paid... More

My husband and I just went on the Sunset cruise last weekend. It was absolutely gorgeous. We were very close to the surrounding islands and even saw two bald eagles. The crew was very nice and there was one young gal on the crew with beautiful red hair that was kind enough to give me her jacket! (it is VERY... More

It's a beautiful ship under full sail but the crew was so unfriendly and did not make any attempt to engage the passengers in conversation. One gal was sleeping standing up. Even the girl singing on our cruise had no personality. There were tip jars all over the ship but no one deserved a tip in my opinion. Completely joyless... More

Took a "1 1/2-2 hour" (just over 1 hour long) sunset cruise last weekend. Perfect weather. Light (5 knot) breeze and a few light clouds. The boat filled up more and more - not many an empty seat. I was surprised at the number of people aboard and it did feel a little cluttered when under way. Crew were pretty... More

The Margaret Todd sails out of Bar Harbor (not out of Cherryfield.) The experiece I had was terribly dissapointing as I have enjoyed sailing on several similar ships in other coastal towns (Booth Bay Harbor, Provincetown, etc.) Worst parts: The stench from below deck was so bad that I had to give up my seat and stand in the front... we (four adults and two children) took the morning cruise and the crew got the sails up and we had the experience of silent running then back to port with the diesel engine. As advertised the afternoon had more wind but we enjoyed our ride with a light wind. it was about the right length for us with two young-ones.... More

We booked a 2 pm cruise for Sept. 1, 2009. It was a beautiful day with the wind at five knots. Margaret Todd cruise is advertised to be a 1 1/2 to 2 hour cruise. It would be a stretch to say the cruise lasted even 1 1/2 hours. Cruise was too short, and we were in site of a... More

We had a party of 12 and wasted 4 hous of our vacation and money. Went on the four hour fishing trip on August 25, 2009. Don't do it. After purchasing the tickets, and getting on board, it was then annouced that it would be highly unlikely that any fish would be caught. No attempt was made to actually find... More

We took the 4 hr. fishing trip. Don't do it. Captain and 'first mate' took us an hour out into the harbor to where they said there were fish. Out of 20 people fishing, 2 fish were caught. biggest was an 8 inch mackerel. Crew made no effort to help and were not too friendly. Waste of an afternoon. Everybody... More

Do not book this trip ahead of time!!! The weather turned awful and the crew would not allow my wife and our 2 children rebook for the next day. So we sat in a cold, rainy fog and when we tried to learn about the boat the captain gruffly told us to go away, he wanted to "focus on navigation."... More
