Cappy's Chowder House is a must! The lavender shop is so great. I purchased some hand made mittens that were made by a local woman who makes them out of sweaters. Very cute. Walk down the Main Street and take in all of the shops and the view of the harbor. Very picturesque. Very quaint.

Our visit to Camden, Maine was wonderfully relaxing. This is one of the cutest towns in America and in Maine. Although it may not be on everyone's travel itinerary, it is well worth the visit.

Always something to find., Maine Gatherings is a spot you have to go to. Get some of the lobster rope baskets or mats - gifts and Maine products are really nice. Friendly and helpful staff

Attractions on the Maine coast have it tough. Everything is so beautiful that the standards are very high. Camden is worth about thirty minutes to an hour. Beautiful harbor with a river cascading down a waterfall into the harbor. Overpriced touristy shops to be avoided, unless you have a severe shopping disorder. Jammed to the gills in summer with tourists... More

I am not a great shopper, but even I was pulled into the shops on High street. Great Leather shop, nice china and books.

Many shops to poke around with Maine artisan pottery and artists. Went to antique shops but didn't see anything I'd buy. If you're into antiques, it's always interesting to see someone's treasures.

Don't miss a nice stroll through the High Street historic district when visiting or driving through Camden. Gorgeous and authentically restored homes. No ugly megamansions plopped down here.

We love Camden, ME. It has the old time summer sea resort town atmosphere, with few cheesy T Shirt shops (a total of one or two). The historic district is quite nice, as is the entire town itself. It seems to have kept the old time history without being too overtaken by commercialism, although it is much more commercial than... More

Camden is a good place to spend the day -- more than enough to see and do in the area. The historic district is very picturesque. We enjoyed walking through the historic town, eating at a local diner, and viewing the harbor. We especially liked the public library and grounds. A short distance from downtown by car, we found a...
