This is by far, one of the best state parks out there. It has something for everyone. Miles of beautiful hiking trails, a horse trail around the lake, a huge lake that is stocked with record bass, older style, less expensive cabins, brand new, huge, waterfront cabins, rv hook ups, tent camping, & primative camping spots off of the trails....

If you want to go out of the way it's not really a bad visit but doesn't offer a lot. Cabins if overnight are not the best but liveable. Out of the way

I'm not sure if it was the land or water that I enjoyed better but both are not to be missed. Paddling and fishing in a true Cypress swamp is both relaxing and peaceful. Until one of their state record contending bass or crappie get hungry. The woods are also a great escape from the noise and pressure of the...

One of the most expensive "hotels" I have ever stayed in - a whopping $120. It was a large two bedroom cabin, with large vaulted ceilings, and a full kitchen and living room area. Beautiful views of the lake and we had a dock too.

My favorite state park in Louisiana. The campsites are varying. They have an open lot area for motorhomes and the more rustic woodsy area for campers and tent camping. The south landing area's campsites are more secluded and spead out than the north landing. Bath houses are always clean and the staff is always friendly.

We've been coming here since I was young & we always have a great time. Mosquitos, racoons & heat are the only down falls but it's worth it. The cabins are on the water & are amazing but they are $180 a night. They have the old LODGES that are much cheaper but they are very primitive. The only unsatisfied...

Chicot state Park is very well kept up and clean. We have twin teenage girls and 20 year old son and everyone had a great time. The shower houses are nicer on the North Campground than on the South Campground. Plenty of places to ride your bikes and fishing was pretty good. We saw LOTS of alligators in the evening....

Check the website, no lodges are on the water!!! Cabins are on the water, just make sure you request one, but they are booked way ahead in spring and summer. The hiking trails are just great. We go almost every other weekend to hike on the trails. Also try any of the other state parks, they are great. I hope...
