We went here on a day trip and had a very good time. Our boys even found it very interesting. So much history and the planes were amazing! If you are planning a trip to Shreveport you have to check this place out. You won't regret it.

While not a "top Tier" museum, displays are wonderfully arranged, even a tribute to Pres. Bush's speech given from BAFB on 9/11. "Indoor" exhibits are alwaus being updated by the all-volunteer staff, and done well. Nice array of military aircraft on static display (sad to say, but they are outdoors), Also, a great little gift shop. Please leave them a...

Interesting display of aircraft, but a long hike to see them. The pictures of flight history are comprehensive. The entire museum is rather small. I expected more.
My husband loves airplanes, so we visit this museum. I had no idea they had so many of them.
It was interesting to see those airplanes up close and see what is written on the body, feel how big they are. Being able to see some of current Air force planes are practicing touch and go was a bonus.

I loved my visit there. I love airplanes, and I got to get up close to them, and read about the things you see when you go into the museum itself. I love the airshows and I was disappointed over not getting to see it this year. Maybe next year they will have it in their budget. But it is...

No idea how one of your other reviewers could suggest this was a great place for out of town guests to visit??? A tourist attraction that is only open to US citizens??? But they don't bother to tell you that anywhere in advance - only when you get to the gate... Very disappointed...
Took some family members from out of town here and they enjoyed it. Nice variety of military planes on display, etc...
Prepare to spend some time here. A very interesting exhibit which covers the history of Barksdale Air Force Base from it's beginnings through WWII up to present day. Small exhibit room with a theatre and an extensive walking tour outside displaying many varied old aircraft from the WWII era to Viet Nam and later, even a Russian MiG 15 is...

The airplanes (mostly WWII and Korean War, I think) are impressive, expecially the nearly-rebuilt B-24 bomber. I think it is one of the few remaining B-24's remaining in the world. The indoor museum is also interesting with all its artifacts. It's well worth the time it takes to tour.
There are a lot of planes to see, here. We spend over an hour walking around the grounds looking at the planes. There was a nice assortment of fighters, bombers, tankers, and reconnaissance. The planes were well-marked, which made for an easy self-guided tour.
The inside of the museum was really disappointing, except for a nice 9/11 piece that tells...
