It was very peaceful to walk through this area and to see and hear the wildlife. I very much enjoyed seeing the baby armadillo and thank you to the photographer there who pointed him out to us.

Very inexpensive ($1-$2 for non residents) but can see all sorts of native critters on the mile or so long hike on a boardwalk through the swamp. Great experience for kids. Also has a nice reptile and amphibian display inside the nature center.

Kids will be fascinated by the snakes, alligators, and other swamp critters on exhibit, but adults have seen it all before. The real reason to visit is the boardwalk through the swamp. Try go visit in the winter, when it's cooler and wetter.
