I've been working downtown since 2005 and I love. Everything is within decent walking distance. Great restaurants to accomodate everyone's cravings. Lots of culture too...museums, governor's mansions, and the other state capitols. LIVE AFTER FIVE on friday's is a must!!!! More

Baton Rouge is a nice little town, not too conjested and beautiful on the river. My advise: Don't bother driving over to New Orleans, that place is a stinking, dirty hole in the ground!!!! Stay in Baton Rouge or drive up to St Francisville, that was lovely! More

Downtown Baton Rouge has become a great place for daytime activities (parades, farmer's market on Sunday, etc.) and nightlife. I really enjoyed being able to get out and walk around on one of the few days in Louisiana when humidity isn't keeping everyone inside. More

Downtown is something Baton Rouge has been trying to bring to life over the years, but it still has not worked. There are plenty of bars and pubs to visit and there is Live After Five during the summer, but don't expect too much activity after normal business hours and on the weekends. The Shaw Center, PGM Theater, and the... More

They need to get apartments or condos to get people to live downtown. There are no drugstores or markets downtown and lts of restaurants serve only breakfast and lunch. That's too bad. It means you need a car, which isn't ideal. Downtown should have open stores or attractions (besides casinos). Great riverfront and excellent museums. Spanishtown is a nice place... More

Since Katrina, the downtown area has been revitalized by those making a new start. Buildings have been refurbished or rebuilt and what was once a ghost town there is now lively parties, new hotels, and mouth watering restaurants within walking distance. Also, consider the museums and historical landmarks within reach. More
