this is one of the best history museums I have been to. It had a great collection british armor, actually the largest collection outside Great Britain. I went to a Princess Diana exhibit, and it was well done.
In Lousiville??? I know! I was shocked too. This is a small, very well put together institution. The displays of British military history was better present than any other museum I've attendee...which two months ago including the British Museum in London! It may not have the sheer number of artifacts as other museums, but the educational value was higher.

We decided to visit this museum when we were killing time. We were pleasantly surprised at the interesting displays and topics covered. We arrived within an hour of closing, so it only cost $5 each. Displays on armory, lots of British history, slavery, and civil war. Fun and educational. We didn't see many other visitors on a Friday afternoon. Only...

Have visited several times...always something new to see. My favorite exhibit was the Princess Diana exhibit. Unbelievably beautiful & touching tour of her life, from childhood to her untimely death. The museum itself is amazing. Something for everyone.
I loved the history museum. There were large exhibits which attract kids and adults alike. There is so much interesting information you can learn here. I even thought the old videos about the wars were interesting. It was definitely worth the admission to go.
Well laid out and very interesting, especially if you are interested in military weaponry. We were there on a weekend and there were different 'demonstrations' taking place the 3 hours were there.
I am a history buff anyway and this place has the largest collection of history in the US and is a great place to go!
Loved it! Give yourself at least 4 hours to really take your time and read the all exhibits. You can do it quicker, but why would you want to? :-) the sword fighting actors were great.
With considerable text, photos and paintings including eye witness accounts, this exhibit tells the slavery story from the viewpoints of the New and Old world as well as from the point of view of view of Africa.
