Spending a peaceful couple of hours aboard a period stern wheel river boat to watch Great Blue Herrons feed their young was a rejuvenating experience. The weather was perfect, the river calm, and we were joined by volunteer naturalist who shared knowledge of bird calls and river history. A good addition to the whole Pleasant Hill experience. More

Any trip to the Lexington area should include a stop at Shaker Village. It is so well maintained, and the restaurant is great. The service is wonderful, and most comes from the garden, and if not that, then the local area. Not crowded in the ususal "touristy" way that many attractions are. Very informative and relaxing. Took the tour and guide was excellent. Only saw a couple of the people working as too early in the season for others. Great gift shops. Had dinner there and was excellent.
