There are some very nice wooden, brick, and stone buildings in this early-settled area of the Quad Cities. Unfortunately, several of the restaurants and shops there were closed. We had lunch at the 11th Street Precinct Grill and it was adequate but nothing to write home about.

Well okay, it's nice. In fact, very nice. And welcoming: free parking at all times. So where is everybody? Somebody said it's dead on Sundays. This is the non-mall, non mass produced shopping area of the Quad Cities. Art galleries, spas, pet specialty shops, cafes, bar and grills, home decorating that's not Big Box Blah.

The Village has been around for years. Some shops come, some go. But it adds so much to the community, I'm glad it still around. We love to bring company there to walk around, shop, grab a bite to eat.

The village of East Davenport tries to recreate an old-fashioned downtown. The facades of the shops are very nice, and capture that feeling. Not quite what it used to be, but well worth the stop if you have some time to kill. A handful of stores, salons/spas, the famous Isabel Bloom original store and studio, bars, restaurants and antiques. This village is so cute and so neat! I love it because it's old and historic and I love anything with a bit of history to it. I went to this colorful little house and it was just too fun! Must visit :)

The Village is a great place to spend some time shopping, eating and playing. The park is great for kids, picnics, sports. Shopping for wine, gifts, Isabel Blooms - different and unique gifts. The food choices are great - the Corner Deli, 11th Street Precinct, Rudy's Tacos, Lagomarcino's - something for everyone!
