This is a great small zoo. They keep it up well and have special attractions from time to time. It is good for small kids because it is not too large.
Love this beach and have been coming for years. We live in the suburbs of Chicago and we always come to this beach. Nominal ($7) fee to park in the summer. You park and the beach is right there. No steps/stairs involved. The beach is clean, the water beautiful and the skyline in the evening is gorgeous. One problem I... More
We had one of the best times fishing with Fuzzy Bears Charter. The captain and crew were very helpful and it was a very nice boat. I took my Daughter and nephews for the day, they all had a great time. The cost of the charter was affordable and they were very helpful with inexperienced group. We went out of... More
Although far too chilly for swimming or sun bathing in mid-October, we still enjoyed a walk along the shoreline. The lake was beautiful, and since the park was closed (no amenities but also no parking fee) there was plenty of parking and no crowds to contend with.
CAN'T BEAT THE SUNSETS!! As the sun goes down the Chicago skyline shows up, add a sailboat on the water and it's picture perfect!! Great place to walk on the pier or the beach, play on the playground, sit on a bench, fly a kite, make a sandcastle, watch the sunset, or just enjoy being outside. Cost to enter the... More
We were there in early September and no entry fee was charged. I bet this place gets busy in the high season, but in the off season it is a nice place for a private beach walk. We had no other company except two kite surfers who were interesting to watch. It is a pretty place to see a sunset... More
great beach, clean, quiet, beautiful panoramas. Great for beach activities or just walking on pier. yacht harbor within walking distance
We made a stop here in the evening on our way to chicago. We enjoyed so much, that we camped near by, and came back the next morning. Beautiful "sea" view, with mini sand dunes behind you and plenty sand/ beach space to play/ build sand castle. I've never been to a beach, and I absolutely loved it. We're definitely... More
My family and I spent Labor Day weekend here. Beach access is nice and area is clean. Lots to do in the park. Parking is $7 for car. Go early as parking fills up fast.
There is a large open space with a few picnic tables and a small play ground and an exercise trail. The best part of the park is the Light House near by on the beach. It's worth a look! At the other end of the park is the Zoo.
