Visited the Oldfield Eli Lilly Mansion during the Dec. 2012 holiday season. The mansion was beautiful and the tour guides were very informative and helpful. I would recommend this tour as an added bonus to visiting the Indiana Art Museum. It's a great way to spend a day in Indianapolis without spending a lot of money. I would highly recommend... More

This house really impressed me. The first floor was amazing. The Second had no furnishings and tell about the Lilly history, which I kind of find a waste of space. The gardens are some of the best I've seen and the small botanical Garden.

I had been wanting to come down to the IMA Gardens for a while now because I wanted to see the flowers. We went this past weekend (first weekend in May) and it was stunning! All the flowering trees were in bloom and the phlox and bluebells were in full color! It was like something out of a movie to... More

Visiting the grounds of the Lilly House was neat. Be sure to visit in late April and into the summer because the flowers are all in bloom and it's good weather enough to sit outside and enjoy the breeze. For photographers such as Anita and I, it was cool because not only are the gardens amazing, the grounds have statues... More

I have lived in Europe for 18 years (France) so something that is only 100 years old is hardly considered historical. However, I still very much enjoyed visiting this piece of American history. The fact that this mansion was built 1910-1913 in the simplified French château style made it particularly appealing to me. It is amazing that this visit is... More

Elegance - double that and triple the result. Breathtaking. Beyond description. Near the Art Museum and Crown Hill Cemetery, if you are doing the tourist thing.

I enjoyed learning about the history of the house and looking at the old architecture and decorations of the house but I enjoyed the gardens and landscaping even more. Great landscaping and fun greenhouses where you can buy a wide array of plants.

It was a nice outing during Christmas break to visit the IMA and Oldfields-Lilly House. It was decorated for Christmas. It was just a little too busy so I felt rushed, but overall a nice experience.

Nice house and grounds but not on par with other estate in America. Expectations are that you would see a far more opulent house and furniture with graciously designed grounds and gardens. Not so.

The property is beautiful, both the home and the gardens around it. It offers several options including a group tour at designated times or the ability to just explore the house on your own. That's what we opted for. It was filled with beautiful, authentic pieces and decorated for the holidays. Each room had pictures of the evolution of the... More
