This ship is not exceptionally big, but to little boys it is amazing. A nice piece of history and never crowded.

For history and war buffs this is a great attraction. Even though I am neither, I enjoyed the tour and hearing stories. We were there during a "work week" when volunteers from around the county were present which was neat. The ship does leave Evansville at times and goes to other ports so make sure you check the schedule. Very... More

Good reconstruction of LST and history of its support in supply delivery process of equipment/troups and while serving our country. Will not take a major part of the day to visit.

A great tour learning a lot about WWII history and the heroic men who manned this ship. This ship might move to another city in a few years, so see it now!

LSTs were made in Evansville right on that big bend of the Ohio River. My father worked there during WW II. This ship is a transport vehicle which played an amazing role in significant battles transporting troops, tanks, and other vehicles. It's a fascinating piece of history. Our tour guide was a veteran and very knowledgeable. The story of how... More

This historic ship was fun to explore. Our tour guide Bob, was wonderful and you could tell that his job was a labor of love. His stories were interesting and he really wanted us to understand the historic significance of this ship.

Everyone should see this ship and realize the magnitude of sailing it fully laden across the Atlantic or Pacific oceans. That took guts when you think just how not-so-big they really are.We owe it to that generation to see it and stand in thanks to them.

My husband and I visited the LST on a warmer than usual January day in 2011. We are so glad we took the time to tour this piece of history! We had a voluteer take us around who was also a WW II vet who really was able to answer all our questions. This should be a must see for... More
