Four Lakes is a great place to learn how to ski or snow board before you go to a "real" place. The rope tows are a little brutal but consider it part of an upper body work out. Instructors and staff are knowledgable patient. The Pub has great PIZZA!

This ski area has all tow ropes. Chicago is iffy with snowfall, some years lots, some years, next to nothing, so use your best judgment. It is a great place to sample skiing and great for young kids. Good equipment, nice small hills and moguls!

very limited menu but... the hamburger I had was pretty good. The door to the outside smoking area (YUCK) was right next to our table so not only did I get to smoke for free but I also got to freeze every time the door opened and closed

Well, I suppose if you want a hill and a very short one at that, Four Lakes Ski Area might be okay. It's okay for locals but I sure don't think avid skiers would drive any great distance to go there.

This is a great place to bring the kids to have some fun without taking up a whole lot of time. Friendly, helpful staff help make this a little gem when you want to ski or snowboard. The kids love it.
