How amazing to see Lake Michigan up close. It was awesome to walk along the bank. What an awesome sight to see.
I didn't get a chance to go out on the lake, but I enjoyed a beautiful view of the lake and the city at night from in front of the planetarium.
Lake Michigan is big enough that it offers many of the same delights as visiting the ocean without the salt. It is cold, but once you're in the water your body will go numb and it won't feel cold any more. If you aren't a water lover there are lots of on shore activities to enjoy.
Came to the Lake for a walk. The weather was not the best but that didn't take away the beauty of this wonderful lake, with all its majesty and unique personality. If you want some peace time, fresh air and a little romance if you are with a partner, come to lake Michigan.
The lake has views of downtown and the southside. The water helps one to clear your head from whatever is going on but this can only happen in the summer. In the winter the lake can kill (smile)
The lake is beautiful to look at and swim in. The water is a bit choppy at times but it's all part of the experience. And when you turn and look at the city, it's the most recognizable and impressive in the country.
We had a merry time at the Navy pier and on the cruise of the Lake Michigan. We went on a Pirate Ship, which was a wonderful experience. It had some activities like unfurling sails, pirate stories etc. which made the ride even more wonderful. The views of the city from the cruise are simply awesome. You get to see... More
What is there not to like! It is a huge beach, lots of activity and people. Refreshing swimming in summer, running, biking, sailing, volleyball and just hanging out the rest of the time. Definitely leave some down time for yourself after all of the shopping, museums and plays!
Suprising to me, was that there is actual "sand". I had always pictured it as being cement breakwalls and deep water along the downtown stretch but in my bike ride, I found two sandy beaches
The best view of the lake is from above the skyscrapers. The closest one is the John Hancock observatory where you can see the lake from the 94th floor!. In good weather you can see the State of Michigan at the other side of the lake.
