We found that may merchants are closed on Saturdays and were very disappointed to find that this was one of them. Only a few stores open and we really wanted to check out the design stores. Thank goodness the Kohler store was open so our trip on the bus then the brown line wasn't a total waste of time.

Way out of my price range, but a person can dream. Some amazing kitchen set ups in this building. Can't even imagine having the money to buy this stuff.

My husband and I are shopping for fixtures and furnishings and we found everything we could ever want - and more at the Luxe Home boutiques. It's the first floor of Merchandise Mart, and the only one open to the public. We visited on a Saturday and arrived shortly after their opening at 10am. I would definitely recommend arriving early... WE have for years come down to the Chicago Mart to place our orders and attend the sample sales. AS of Spring of 2012, most of the showrooms told us they were going out. WE were completely shocked and dismayed at the news. There was a fall sample sale arranged for Nove. of 2012 so we went. It's absolutely heartbreaking... More

Stores, design, shopping, bank. Very nice. You can get lost in time, yet it also has the new and improve enhancements.

So much to see, so huge an area to conquer. Was told during a tour that at one time this 2 square block building had it's own zip code. Plenty of places to eat, bank and shop inside. Can be overwhelming and quite disheartening when you see how the truly wealthy outfit and furnish their homes/condos. The best of the... More

Of course you want to go into the Mart. There are so many beautiful product displays such as furniture and household items, but done in a way you have never seen. So classy, so historical, and so interesting to view.
