My husband and I love jazz, but hadn't found a venue downtown that we were crazy about. So, we decided to check out Jazz Showcase, since it's been around since 1947. From reading the other reviews, folks have mixed feelings about it, but I have to say: it was such a nice place!

I love music. Our concierge recommended this place. The music is good. The service is okay. The cocktails were average but not worth the price. To end the evening I chose to have coffee, $3 per cup... Ridiculous!
The music is worth the experience, but would I come back....probably not.

Jazz Showcase is a great place to spend a night out. They bring in a wide variety of talent in a very laid back atmosphere. One of only a few live jazz clubs in the city, so definetly worth looking at if that is your thing.

this is a pretty nice venue. we were drawn to the sunday matinee because children get in free, (and they don't scowl when you bring in your 16 month old, they're actually very welcoming towards children at the matinee). the jazz was ok, not amazing. kind of felt like i was watching rehearsal, but when you're traveling with a toddler...

Feels a little bit empty inside, almost like a small gym as you pass away from the bar and into the seperate seating area.
Don't get me wrong, it's not big, so there is some intimacy.
Things were pretty relaxed the night I visited three years back.
