Outstanding museum, very relaxed with a great mix of traditional and contemporary art. Special exhibits, such as the Picasso, rival Paris museums. Just be aware that there is an extra charge for the special traveling exhibits.

A great collection of art works, and with it, a good slice of history. Wide variety and surely, you will find something in there that will excite / interest you.

awesome art museum. It will take days to go through it. It's in the heart of downtown chicago and a cab is not needed to get there. It's walking distance to everything

Easy to get in, no waiting, showed my membership pass, took a map and we were off. Had about 90 minutes and cruised through with great help from staff. The map they give out tells how to see the most asked about works in 1 hour.

I dragged my 14 year old son in for a couple of hours -- and he ended up enjoying it as much as I did. The museum map has a "if you only have two hours" guide on the back of it -- and it got us to the fabulous pieces I wanted to see. Seurat's Sunday afternoon was stupendous... More

There is a variety of art here for everyone to enjoy something. Not too crowded and you are allowed to take pictures as long as no flash is used.

The Art Institute is spectacular. My wife and I saw the Picasso exhibit which just closed. It was fantastic. You need many hours to do justice to this museum.

Certainly one of the country's top art institutions. Chicagoans are amazing collectors and generous in their gifts to the Art Institute. Beautiful location, architecture, shop, restaurants -- all in addition to a top-flight collection. Conveniently located in city center.
