My family goes to Grand Bay regularly. We take the trial to the tower and usually see LOTS of wildlife. There are usually alligators around, but don't worry. You will be safe on the boardwalk. This area is beautiful. Keep your eyes out for carnivorous pitcher plants! No fee is required.

Found this via a sign on route 125. Very glad we did. The boardwalk into the cypress swamp is a great way to learn about the history of this area. Educational signs line the boardwalk. The fire tower is a fun climb. If you stay put long enough you will probably get to see some aerial action coming into Moody...
