North Island Surf and Kayak was great!! My group of friends and I had so much fun kayaking and paddle boarding! The people that work there were extremely nice and very helpful! They explained how to use the equipment and made me feel really comfortable! They also teach surfing and I plan to take lessons this summer!! More

Had a wonderful time kayaking. This is such a great way to see the wildlife on Tybee. Shane and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Saw a few pods of dolphins while out. I would recommend this to anyone in the area. Don't wear flip flops, I wore water sneakers for all the sharp shells and rocks. Next time... More

I've developed a new found love of kayaking and the cool thing about Tybee is the diversity of places you can paddle too. You can tour the marshes of the back river, head out to the old abandoned light house and even climb up in it, go past crowded public beaches or paddle to a near by queit beach. Be... More

My husband and I rented a double kayak from North Island Surf and Kayak. We packed a lunch with us and he took a fishing pole and some bait. Shane was lots of help and gave us some tips of where to go. The kayaks are very comfortable and you will have enough room for a small cooler for some... More

I finally tried kayaking and now know that whether you're a local or a visitor, young or not, this was being in Savannah in a whole new way. When planning to go, you can take it out for an hour or a day or even overnight. Individual and two man kayaks, you choose. I went with my friend and now... More

My wife and I had an amazing time taking a kayak out into the savannah river. We were so surprised by how, much wildlife we experienced while out on the water. We saw at least two separate pods of dolphins very early on. Several of them were jumping completely out of the water and showing off for my wife and... More

We went kayaking with a group of 6 adults and 1 teenager, all of which had little to no experience. We did not take a tour, but decided to go out on our own. We left Lazaretto Creek around 9:30 am, during high tide, so it was hard work paddling out but it was well worth it! We encountered dolphins... More

We rented a kayak to paddle around in. We thought we would be able to go to little Tybee but it is apparently a four hour trip from the shop, so we decided to head to North Beach instead. We made it up to the Tybee Lighthouse and back to the shop in about 4.5 hours. The paddling was pretty... More

My husband and I rented a 2-man kayak for the day. The kayak shop recommended getting suns at the IGA store..perfect idea. They were huge, fresh, and wonderful. We loaded up yhekayak with our food small cooler and camera (in a waterproof bag). We kayaked to the lighthouse and to north beach. The best was the more the 50 dolphins... More
