We loved the tour with Dr. Joe! Excellent, informative, fun - loved it. Dr. Joe's expertise was appreciated but what we truly loved was his enthusiasm and approachability. He seemed to enjoy the tour as much as we all did. We would do it again and would certainly recommend it to friends and family. We absolutely loved it.

We had spent a few days on the island before we met with Dr. Joe. We looked at the beach but we never really SAW the beach. Dr. Joe's enthusiasm was contagious!!! It was a great experience and we learned so much! There were only 4 of us in the group so there was plenty of opportunity to ask lots... More

We spent an evening on the beach with Dr. Joe and I think my kids will remember it their entire life. Our group consisted of the 5 of us and another couple. It was a laid back, informative evening. We learned about the jelly fish that we had been avoiding all weekend (they are not poisonous). Also, the kids had... More

Definitely qualifies for #1 attraction on Tybee. Very interesting. Very hands on. Our group of 4 eleven yr old girls and 4 parents LOVED this activity. 2 hours. At low tide. Talked about it for ages afterwards. Personally i loved it, for what we saw, how much the girls enjoyed it, and because we were taught enough to go back... More

Our group of 7 got a great deal. We had a blast. There was no way we would have experienced the island in this way without Joe. We will return and be returning customers. He is very interactive with the kids and brought so much to aid in our outing. We even found shark teeth to take home from this.... More

We had a great afternoon exploring the beach with Dr. Joe! He has a great way of explaining things and despite the chilly wind, we all enjoyed ourselves! The group found a spider crab, several hermit crabs, fish, olive snails, a fig whelk, and several other creatures. We'll definitely be doing another ecology trip with Dr. Joe next year!

We had such a wonderful experience with Dr Joe on our tour. Just a great value on the island. First of all, Dr Joe looks just like Jimmy Buffet! So, who wouldn't love to hang out with Jimmy B on the beach?! I love animals and having Dr Joe there to answer any question that I had was just the... More

Joe is a wealth of information about things on the beach. My husband and I have lived near a beach for most of our lives, and sometimes you just take for granted things you see lying in the sand.... never stopping to think that it was once a living thing. We learned the names of many shells that we have... More

Dr. Joe's passion for beach ecology and teaching are clear every minute of the program. And, his passion is infectious. Be prepared to spend a couple of hours totally fascinated by the creatures you'll find. This program is great for almost anyone.

We spent several hours with Joe exploring the beach and rocky area on north Tybee. We have done many things while traveling but this was one of the best experiences ever! Joe was so warm and friendly. We learned so much and he taught us many things about the "treasures" that wash ashore from the sea. This would be an... More
