we went a couple of years ago and really enjoyed walking around. It is starting to run down, but the horticulture is wonderful there. More

While there's always year 'round botanical interest at Lockerly Arboretum <http://www.lockerly.org/>, it's a horticultural laboratory rather than a showplace garden. The mission is to test non-native plants to determine their adaptability to Middle Georgia climate and soil. There's no admission charge. A wonderful place to visit! A beautiful home with lovely grounds. Pretty year-round but especially worthwhile in the spring. More
