Good local hideaway, kind of a local secret that others would really appreciate. If you want a nice day for a beach or picnic, this is the place.

There are no long beaches in this area, so Fred Howard Park is a county run park with picnic shelters, playgrounds, walking paths, trees and a causeway to fish from. Also an island beach with sand and palm trees. While not as glorious as Clearwater or St. Pete beaches, this is a charming area to visit with lots of potential... More

Went there with my mother, my 7 year old daughter, and myself. LOVED it. There is a $5 parking fee, but it was worth it. There are outdoor showers if you need them, and basic rest rooms. I think sometimes there are chairs for rent but it was closed when we were there. There are fish leaping out of the... More

This place is awesome and away from it all, real nice sand and fully serviced beach area…Upon rolling up to the causeway point you will see people fishing and small boats launching etc. Once you get to the beach area you will find the most unique and beautiful view of the Gulf of Mexico

Chair rental, you can dicker with the man. We stayed 2 hrs and got lounge chair and reclining chair for 10 dollars. Beautiful beach, parking all day 5 dollars. Stop and walk around the park. The trees are beautiful

Came here for a sunset experience and wasn't disappointed! Also came early in the morning for a beach walk. Beautiful tropical park with a causeway to a lovely beach. Cost is $5 per day.

I agree with the other reviewers concerning the park/beach. The only negative is that the food truck is not always open so it cannot be relied on. My family arrived at the beach today, saw the truck and decided to wait a little while before getting lunch. When they went to get lunch @12:30, the food truck was gone. The... More

As a local, I enjoy snorkeling here on my days off during the week (When there are fewer people). You can really enjoy the sand and the view without cigarette smoke/butts or music! I'm grateful for my annual pass so I don't have to pay each time I go! It's a great little place, close to home and the opportunities... More
