Monkey Jungle was founded in the 1930s and is still owned by the same family. It really is a hidden gem located outside Miami Proper. We were able to spend about 2.5 hours there wondering around the lush grounds. Everything is super clean and well maintained. There are of course monkeys, but also some reptiles that will get your attention, and several bird species. We attended three different informational shows . It was fun to feed the tortoises and the iguana , along with learning their histories. You can also purchase packets of dried fruit to place in bowls for the monkeys to retrieve. . The staff are very friendly and are full of great information . (I believe there are over 400 monkeys on property). We even got to see one swim ! I definitely suggest stopping in. I don’t think you will be disappointed.

It was a lot of fun. We absolutely loved our tour guide and everyone we met while we were there were very friendly. The pricing does seem to be too much for the experience and time you get, but it is very good. Apparently the grounds are still like 50% closed, so maybe when they reopen it would be more worth the money. We did the tour with the tour guide experience. The general admission is still not allowed.

Very relaxing and peaceful nature spot. Monkeys run free, and people walk in the cages. 😉 Very smart concept!
It's a little far from Miami, but it's worth visiting

No general admission!! Group only , make reservations, $150 a person!! Lady was rude when we was asking questions. Worried at this cost monkeys will not get the treatment they deserve!

The experience at Monkey Jungle is not like any other I have ever had in the US. Like others have stated, when you hear the high cost of entry, it may bring you pause and wonder if it will be worth it…. Once you’ve had the monkeys dancing at your feet and crawling over your shoulders you’ll start to wish you could experience this joy every day of your life. The guides are informative and friendly and the grounds of the Monkey Jungle are clean and well maintained. The true treat of the experience comes when you are privileged to feed the squirrel monkeys directly. They squeak and they dance as they descend from the trees to your location at feeding time. Some of them just grab the treats and run while others hang out and take company with you but the swarm of monkey’s does not stop during the entire feeding time. Some love the peanuts others the fruits as they sit effortlessly on your small plate and chirp with glee at the treats. Its hard to express what a positive and rewarding experience it is to see these marvelous creatures up close as they climb over and around and on top of you. It was easy and fun to take monkey-selfies holding the food plate in one hand and the phone in the other. I highly recommend this experience for all animal lovers and anyone looking for a unique and intimate experience with these tiny golden yellow and black marvels!

Going here was one of the highlights in my childhood - 50 years ago. Figured it would have changed a lot - but NO, it was wonderfully fabulously just as it was - "Where Humans are Cages and Monkey run wild."
Because Monkeys can contract COVID they had to close down but eventually started offering small group tours so long as everyone wears a mask - which I was more than happy to do to protect the animals. Not cheap to do, but worth every penny! (Plus, I think the owners must be paying out-of-pocket to keep this place going during the pandemic, so I was more than happy to contribute to that!)
Our guide, Will, was brilliant and well-informed. I was fascinated to learn about the social structure of the Macaque monkey. And it was SO MUCH FUN to be able to feed the little Spider Monkeys as they happily crawled all over us.
Truly can't top smiling thinking about it all!

I visited this attraction as a child and always remembered it and have always thought about returning as an adult. For any animal lover or families with children who love animals, this experience is quite unique. The monkeys are free and you are caged… The way it should be! Definitely go here! definitely go here! definitely go here!
It will be the experience of a lifetime and children we will remember it forever.

Absolutely, undoubtedly worth the drive and the money. If you are even contemplating going, just go. It's an experience you won't forget. Just watch out for the monkeys on top of the cage peeing on you!
