If you have never ever been to an aquarium perhaps worth the effort. It is pricey and the exhibit is in two places with a little hike in between. NOT very tourist friendly and not much of an experience.

Mate Marine Aquarium is a working Marine Institue and Aquarium. The Volunteer guides do an excellent in taking step by step through the Aquarium. Feel free to ask the guides any questions and it will make your visit more pleasing. Try the nature boat trip also.

This place is great. Everyone should visit. It's worth more than the admission price, and would be a full day if you also stop by Save Our Seabirds which is across the parking lot from Mote. For those who are super into marine life, you could easily visit two days in a row.

Mote is an absolutely fantastic place! The aquarium is beautiful and has great exhibits. I like the cuttlefish tank, the seahorses, and the skate breeding exhibits. The Mote Aquarium is a great place to take the family or go alone. You will see Manatee's, Dolphin and Sea Turtles along with many other fish that you don't always see in other aquariums. Small but educating place for small children. Seeing sharks and mantees was interesting. Also the dolphin "moon shine" was very friendly and very cute. Take your little ones for a little fun..

Every year we would visit the aquarium, the laboratory, and the bird sanctuary across the street. It made for a great day and we got to see lots of different kinds of animals!
