The Museum of FIne Arts in St. Pete is a very nice local museum. They have a decent collection for what it is. However, if you've been to some of the bigger US museums (ie, the Met), you'll be left wishing for something. Definitely worth a trip. Docent is actually pretty decent, too.

A very nice collection of art covering many different eras. Not so large that you can't see the entire museum in a few hours. Their cafe is a nice spot for a snack or lunch.

Our expectations for this art museum on the waterfront were not high, given its small size and off-the-beaten-path locale, but we were quite pleased with what we saw there. The collection is small compared to the great art museums, but it's large enough, and they have done an excellent job of including a sampling of works of many of the... More

Not a large museum but beautiful art work and beautiful setting. A great way to spend 1-2 hours. Restaurants abound in this area. Great day trip. Walking, people watching, etc. Many attractions in this area as well. Very near the Pier and on the water. Great place to walk, eat, sight see.

Do not forget to go into the gift store because there are some unique items in there. Lots of wearable one-of-a-kind jewelry and accessories.

Well, maybe even amazing that such a collection of Old Masters and other wonderful pieces is on display in downtown St. Pete.

I was there 8 years ago and I visited this museum again recently. It was as great as the first time. The exhibitions weren't so big as I expected (compared those fine art museums where I had been before), therefore I had lots of time to be able to watch everything as comfortably as possible. The permanent exhibition is very... More
