We visit our vacation home near Englewood a couple of times a year and always make a visit to Fishermans Village - me to visit the museum and the wife to spend money elsewhere! The displays rotate every few months as I understand they have a lot more items in storage - therefore every visit has something different to see.... More

They operate on voluntary donations only. Good display of military artifacts and knowledgeable volunteers to answer questions. More

We were absolutely stunned about HOW MUCH we take for granted in this country until we walked into the museum and discovered that FREEDOM did not come without a cost !! The museum is a testament to that, as everthing is displayed in a manner that allows you to feel part of time when everyone came together to work together... More

This musuem staffed by veteran volunteers is located in Fisherman's Village. Although it is small in size, it has alot to offer in terms of the variety of historic items and the knowledge shared by the staff. I enjoyed talking to the veterans about their personal experiences. Stopped by Harpoon Harry's for lunch and did not realize this place was there, but after seeing it we had to stop. Having retired from the military just 4 years ago it definitely makes me feel older when I see old uniforms and equipment that I used in the 80s and 90s sitting in a museum. There is no charge...
