I was arrested for trying to camp on johnson's beach despite the federal website showing it to be a primitive campsite. There is a notorious female officer there on a huge power trip named Mellisa Taylor whom after arresting me I found has a long record of abusing power apparently weeks before my arrest she was pepper sprayed for pulling... One of my favorite beaches ever. We have the interagency pass and come here often for photography and just sitting on the beach. If you live here, get the Night Owl permit and experience the sunsets and nighttime. The boardwalk shows a part of the beach that most people never care about but should.

It may cost you to get into this park but you will enjoy a beautiful uncluttered, natural environment. We loved cycling and running on the main road without fast traffic.

Broad, white band beach with very clean, nice facilities, outdoor showers, multiple pavilions available for rental too. Love it!

Scenic beach with ample parking. Worth the weekly $8.00 fee to get in. Quiet, family-friendly beach-just beautiful!

Arriving by boat from the intracoastal waterway from Bayou Chico in Pensacola, it's a 20 minute ride. Anchoring the boat along the waterway's beach, we walked across the sand to the Gulf of Mexico side. There we found very few people and clean, white powdery soft white sand. Walking a mile along the beach, we were delighted to find periodic... More

This a beautiful natural beach with good facilities for swimmers but also lots for those who want to enjoy nature. Beautiful. Gulf side is white sand, very natural; bay side marsh lands with a very nice walk way. Ideal for photography lovers.

I grew up on this beach and return with every visit back to Pensacola from Texas. It is one of the most beautiful beaches in North America with pure white crystal sands. Johnson Beach is also far less crowded than Pensacola Beach and it's proximity to Perdido & Orange provide many restaurant options. Relax and return, again and again. Lots... More

The beach is some what secluded and natural. And because it is not a "re-nourished beach, the rip currents are not as strong as some of the other area beaches. The powdery white quartz sand found along the coast was deposited here thousands of years ago from the Appalachian mountains.

A great place to watch birds, fish, and animals interact. You will find out what the words "feeding frenzy" really mean when you see pelicans go after a school of fish.
