My wife and I toured the sanctuary while in the area with our son's high school basketball team. The sanctuary was absolutely beautiful. We highly recommend it! More

Well worth a visit. Stroll along the walk way looking out for animals. Our kids loved gaitor spotting ! Be aware though...dependant on the time of year (we went in May) may sure you use insect repellant as two of us thought we'd be ok but we ended getting nearly eaten alive by the insects! More

We enjoyed our time at Corkscrew sanctuary and Ilike how it reminds you that the Everglades are really a beautiful and sacred part of Florida history. With that being said, onour trip inmid May there was a very limited amount of flower and plant life in bloom. We saw a few different types of small lizards, various birds, and the... More

This Centre is operated by the Audubon Society and is said to be the jewel in its crown - a claim we can well believe. The boardwalk, over 2 miles long, is notable in itself, quite apart from the sights it enables you to see: and the information boards are interesting/helpful without becoming excessive. We happened to visit at the... More

If you are an outdoor enthusiast you will enjoy this sanctuary. Bring your camera and a tripod if you have one as you will see wildlife. Go at the right time of the year and the adult alligators with their babies will amaze you. Wait till you hear an alligator roar! Take the entire boarwalk and lake your time looking... More

The 2.25 mile boardwalk is wonderful and the vegetation, the 400-500 year old cypress trees, and the groves of younger trees are magnificent. Although we (husband & I, visiting from California) didn't see many birds on our mid-morning visit, we heard them. The highlight for me was the mud hole, which was inhabited by two large alligators and their half-dozen... More

Most of the surrounding areas have been logged but the Audubon society has done a good job of preserving this area for future generations. I unfortunately visited at the tail end of the dry season so the local wildlife was not as active. I'd like to visit again during the fall or winter. A few gators occupied some small puddles... More
