Museum has several good fossil exhibits of items taken from the Phosphate Mining industry and some dredge buckets. Exhibits are housed in several railroad freight cars near the City Hall. The tour is free and is well done.

Very nice place to visit. Have taken my grandchildren on several occasions. They really enjoy checking out the caboose and searching for fossils in the rock pile. And of course they enjoy getting a souvenir or two.

We stop at this place every trip to Florida. It's fairly close to my parents place in Lakeland. The museum is nice and has a suprisingly nice collection of bones, teeth and fossils. A great little museum showing the history of the phosphate industry of Florida. There are many fossils on display such as mastodon bones, shark teeth, etc.
Outside the museum there is a mound of phosphate mine material where you can try your luck at finding fossils.
Oh, and sweet Ms. Ellie has LOTS of interesting stories to tell! Just listen...
