We spent about four hours today at the Miami Zoo. The last time we went there was years ago and quite frankly it has improved quite a bit. All in all, it is a good way to spend a few hours in Miami. The only issue I had with our visit is that all of the drink vending machines were... More

I though San Diego was big at 100 acres, this place has 324 acres but far fewer species. With the Florida sun this place is absolutely exhausting. The zoo itself is well kept with many interesting species but I found the animals too spaced out with lots of unused space in between and when touring with a 4 year old... More

We loved taking the segway tours at the zoo but they have been discontinued. Would still visit the zoo, it's perfect for company visiting with small kids. Bring back the segways, it's like two treats in one. More

Last visited Zoo Miami on St. Patrick's Day 2012. It can be very hot and the zoo is very large. You used to be able to ride the monorail for free but now there is a charge and the narrated story can barely be heard on the speakers in the train. The bicycle rental is nice but expensive. The only... More

Zoo Miami (formerly MetroZoo) is a great place for a day out of the house. There are lots of exhibits and animals and at $15.99 for adults and $11.99 for children it's really a great value. Some reviews were complaining that the animals weren't out. Go to any zoo anywhere and if it's mid-day, the animals are napping. That's nature!... More

Go early to enjoy this mega acre zoo. There is sooo much to do and so little time. Print out a savings coupon online and save like $3.00 on admission. You can bring your food- however- glass and straws are not allowed- sorry I guess we humans are careless and could harm the animals. Feed the giraffes, ride the camels... More

We hold annual passes and go frequently to this zoo. The aviary is fantastic! Comparing to other zoo's I find this one is very animal friendly. More

Although zoo's are not everybody's cup of tea, I cannot see how any captive animals could have better conditions than those at Miami zoo. As previous reviews it is big we walked round on a very quiet day and completed a full loop in under 3 hours, there are plenty of drinking fountains and cooling machines. You can hire bikes... More
