My boyfriend and I were looking for a place to spend a few hours during a rainy day while we were downtown. The staff were enthusiastic and friendly and even lent us some extra sweaters they have on hand for folks who are unprepared for chilly theaters. We stayed for two movies back to back and the movie timings were... More

Expect small rooms and people eating and making noise, they go there to be out of the sun for a couple of hours. The entrance its nice and the bar has lots of options if you want to have popcorns, ice creams or beverages.

The Tropic is a unique place in today's world of mega theaters. Every one smiled and seemed to be enjoying themselves.

This is how cinemas used to be .... small & personal. Check locally for film screenings which offer more than the usual modern block busters. Or just stand outside and admire the decor and have your picture taken with the statue of Marilyn Monroe.

Located in the heart of town, it is very accessible. The offerings are varied and eclectic. It is a great choice for a quiet night or to break up a busy day..

This is nice theater in down town Key West. The only draw back of this theater is that the screens are small. So if your look for that big theater screen... don't go here...

Worth visiting for the design and local art shows -- even if you skip the movies. Kudos to George Cooper and (children's book author) Judy Blume, who underwrote and raised funds for much of the renovation.
