So far I've only been there walking the trails. It seems though as if the park is more laid out for biking and kayaking. Still had a great time, though. It's a big area and you can see a lot of wildlife. They also have an area for picnicing and bbq. And no entry fee!

For $10 we were able to rent bikes for the day. The concessionaire gave us a map and pointed out his favorite trails. We rode for hours through level often shady terrain. The trails are hard packed so easy riding, no sand to deal with. This is the site of the Second Seminole Wars so there is some interesting history.... More

This park has it all: private little corners where you can get away from it all, public areas where they have lots of special activities, like their annual Farmstead Day, when they fire up the old logging saw left from the early CCC days, and steam-engine run machines and tractors, and a petting zoo. Non-motorized boats on the canals, paved... More

Recently, friends and I kayaked this breathtaking river. One double kayak was about $26, and was MUCH easier to navigate on this twisty-turny river than a canoe. The ride down the river was very, very easy. The way back was a bit more difficult, but it wasn't horrible. On a Saturday, the river was dotted with many canoes and kayaks,... More

Great place to go for a bike ride. Crushed shell/concrete surfaces. Bike rentals available (but not daily...check in advance). Canoe/kayak rentals also. You get back in the woods away from it all!

Crushed limestone paths that wide along the head waters of the Loxahatchee river. Lots of shade with cabanas and picnic areas through out. Pioneer homestead, antique saw mill and weekend battle field tours of the second Seminole war.

My wife and I travel the world kayaking. This was an easy trip with great equipment. This part of the river was very different the even the ding darling park. It had a lot of wildlife and one of the largest Gaters I have yet to see in the Fla back waters. Enjoy!

Kayak rentals were very reasonable. Don't bring you camera with you, this may seem obvious, but I had never been before, and our kayak flipped. The scenery is so rustic, and you will wish you brought your camera!!

My husband and I rented kayaks and had a fantastic time exploring the river for a couple of hours. Kayak rentals are really easy and affordable ($32 for a double) and Canoe Outfitters staff were very pleasant and provided maps. The river was a little more challenging than we expected with many twists and turns which kept us on our toes....
