The three mile drive to the fort is beautiful as u drive through a canopy of trees and Spanish moss. Fort is well maintained, beautiful views from top of wall which you can access via stairs or ramp. Very close to where we stayed on the north end of the island. Nice trails, beaches and the Fort is worth visiting.

We highly recommend this historic spot. The docents are great teachers. Great glimpse into history. It's also a nice bike ride from the small town.

Close to the hotel, relaxing. Reasonably priced. All in all, a good experience. Fun for the whole family.
