Caladesi is supposedly the most beautiful beach in the entire country. Well, I am not sure about that. The water is certainly more blue on the Emerald Coast, south of Destin... More

We visited Caladesi Island State Park while staying in Clearwater Beach, about a 20-25 minute drive into Dunedin and across the bridge to Honeymoon Island. The admission was $8 on Honeymoon Island (for a car of 2-8 people), Then you buy ferry tickets to Caladesi Island at $14 per person, which we thought was pretty expensive. The ferry takes about... Took the ferry over from Honeymoon Is.($8.00 entry for 2). The fare was $14.00 per adult, round trip. From the dock, there was a short walk to the beach. We rented sand chairs, and an umbrella ($25.00), from a very friendly lady named Bonnie. The beach is absolutely beautiful! We walked for quite a ways, collecting shells, and sand dollars... More

Bring bug spray, it is a natural beach. It was a little expensive, but nice to go to a beach without trash. The ferry ride to the beach was really informational as well. More

We kayaked to the northern part of the Island from the causeway. The paddle over to the Island was a bit rough but, so worth it. This place is a shellers delight and the reason for our trip. Can't wait to come back in July. More
