I can't ask for more!! This place is clean and it has a lot of character!! The sand is clean and the water was not that clear since there is a high tide... But overall a great family trip!!

This was a very clean and beautiful beach. It was a short walk from the parking lot to the beach and they had very clean facilities. We had to pay $6 per car but it was well worth it! There are picnic tables, bathroom facilities (not porta-potties, actual bathrooms) as well as showers to clean the sand off afterwards. There... More

First off maybe we were lucky but the water was amazingly clear and blue/green that day. The sand was white as snow and would squeak when ran on. Parking was easy and the bathrooms were clean. This is a great kept secret because there was barely anyone there compared to our beach front condo that is always packed and busy.... More

Stayed here for two nights. Campsites are private with trees between each site. Only paid campers are allowed in the campground so there is no day traffic. The campground has it's own private boardwalk to the world famous beach, very nice! The shower and restroom were kept very clean. Free Wi-Fi was available, but we did not try it. Reservation... More

My wife and I went Popano Fishing at the state park last week 5/9/13. I was amazed how much of the beach was open with very little people using the park. For the locals this is one of the best little kept secrets. A great place to go spend some quality beach time without having to look for a space... More

Days of yore...this area is reminiscent of the days before big business exploited this area. Definitely worth coming to sit and enjoy the sugar sand and the emerald beaches.

There are multiple places to park to go to the beach in Destin, but they are not easy to find, and when you do, there are not many spaces and can fill up quickly. There is a cost to get into this park, but there are a lot more parking spaces, bathroom facilities, picnic tables, a small nature trail, campground,... More

There is plenty of beach front and the park provides an unobstructed view to the north. It is family friendly and a must see in Destin.

This is probably the nicest state park I have experienced. Perfect location in the middle of Destin but tucked away, quiet, very clean, and easy access to the panhandles white sands. The only thing keeping this park from pure perfection is the absence of full hook ups.
