I visited Wakodahatchee Wetlands while visiting my sister who lives in South Florida. Our plans were initially derailed by a dreary start to the day, but during a break in the rain we took a chance on stopping. It really was a great place to spend a couple of hours walking and observing the wildlife and scenery. We saw a... More

This place is amazing. It's a short boardwalk trek. You are guaranteed to see lots of wildlife. I've seen gators, annhingas, cormorants, roseatte spoonbills, herons, ibises, storks, turtles, fish, rabbits, and otters. It's great for photography because the critters are not very afraid of the people. It's best to go early or late afternoon because there is no shade. Bring... More

I love visiting and walking this wetland parks. There's always something to hear and see, and the walk is beautiful. Go early or late in the afternoon when it's cooler out and bring binoculars and your camera! More

Walk along the boardwalk for about a mile or so and see wonderful wildlife: birds nesting, gators resting and photographers galore, so be quiet and respect the wildlife and the peacefulness. More

This was my favorite stop in Delray Beach. It was great seeing all the wildlife, and there was just the right amount of educational/contextual signage. You should watch what time of day you go. It was a little too warm when we stopped in mid-afternoon, and there is little or no shade to give you a break. Bring your camera!!! More

A nice boardwalk - not too long if you just fancy a little stroll. Didnt see any gators but saw some turtles! Nice but prefer Green Cay myself as the boardwalk is longer and newer. The nature center here is good though especially if you have kids. More

My wife and I spent over an hour walking through this wonderful wildlife preserve. The variety and number of birds nesting there was absolutely unbelievable. Below the elevated boardwalk we saw several alligators and dozens of turtles. Don't miss it if you are in the area. More
