I'm always up for any new and exciting site to visit while traveling, however we're both nature lovers so we didn't miss the opportunity to visit FTBG...what a terrific find! There were only positives: lush, shady gardens, otherworldly butterfly house, spotless cafe, friendly and helpful staff. My favorite part? Sitting in the outdoor butterfly garden while monarchs and painted ladies... More

Fairchild Tropical Botanical Garden is by far my favorite place in Miami. It is the #1 attraction I recommend for visitors and never fails to make them happy. The new butterfly exhibit is spectacular, the grounds are beautiful and serene, and the cafe is a good spot for a cold tropical iced tea.

The Fairchild Tropical Botanical Garden offers a nice choice to see plants, trees, butterflies, fish and others from around the world. The Garden is located in Coral Gables and offers you an opportunity to spend as much time outdoors that you want. There is a south and north entrance. I would recommend the north entrance since the southern one doesn't... More

I would definitely recommend taking the tram ride first to get an overview of the gardens. The collection was typical of more american style botanical gardens, as it sits more on a parkland type of a property. As one can image, this place boasts an impressive collection of palms as well as other tropical plants. I saw the butterfly exhibit... More

Have been to botanical gardens all over the world, this is one of the better ones. Very beautiful palms and tropical plants. Water well integrated (ponds) into park. If I lived in area would consider a membership. Plan to spend the whole day to make use of the steep (but not atypical for this kind of place) admission fee

This is the most spectacular place I have ever visited. At times, I suffered from sensory overload from all the beauty that surrounded us. I can recommend visiting in April, although I would suggest maybe not going during special events, when crowds can be a bit overwhelming. On the other hand, we benefitted from some terrific food and even better... More

First time visitors 2 and older will be enchanted, entertained, and educated, particularly if they can avoid our summer months, June through September. Start your introduction with the 45-minute tram ride, which gives a good overview protected from sun and drizzle. Our 2- and 4-year-old grandchildren saw enough birds, turtles, alligatorless ponds, and tropical plants to hold their attention the... More
