Rockford Park is the place that local dog lovers bring their best friends. Any time of morning, afternoon or early evening you see owners and their pets romping in the off-leash section of Rockford Park. I didn't get it until I adopted a dog: now I go there all the time.

Have been here mostly in the fall. Great for a picnic near the tower and you can go up in it. The kids love climbing the stairs (don't attempt if you're not relatively fit) and looking out the windows at the top. Graceful, lovely park with beautiful old trees and near the DE Art Museum so you can stop by...

Rockford Tower is located in the Highlands area of Wilmington, Delaware. The surrounding parklands offer walking and running trails with a great view of the Brandywine River. The changing colors of the foliage during this time of year is spectacular. The tower itself was once used as a water tower for the city of Wilmington, although I am not sure...
