There is a lot to do in this coastal state park. Our kids loved it for this reason ~ towers to climb, paths to walk or ride on, fishing pier, nature center, playground, and nice beaches of course. There are a few different beaches and they are all different, so there is something for everyone.
Cape Henlopen State Park is a beautiful natural beach where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Delaware Bay. There are so many things to do other than enjoy the beautiful beach...the nature center has a lot of activities to attend and there is a gift shop and displays of land and sea creatures. You can rent bikes there and tour the...

Over the weekend of 3-5 May 2013, we brought our Scout Troop from Pennsylvania down here to camp. We camped in the "Primitive Youth Camping Area" and had a great time all weekend. This park has lots to offer, most notably, the Atlantic Ocean, which our boys played in despite the 54 degree water temperature. We brought bikes; the park...

We love Cape Henlopen state park. We get a season pass to make it quick and easy to get in. Great bike trails, great beaches and bathhouses. We enjoy the views of the lighthouses and watching the ferry crossing to Cape May.
What a great park. It has it all history, Ft. Miles WWII army post. Sand Dunes, nature trail and beautiful beaches, which some are dog friendly.

Our first stop was at the watch tower with beautiful views. Next we went to Fort Miles. Since it was an off-season weekday, there wasn't any staff present, but we...

Sometimes an authentic Nazi reenactor group participates and you can jump right out of your skin if you vividly recall WWII. The enormous 16" battleship gun barrel is a sight to behold as well as the...

This one of the finest parks I have ever seen. From walking on the fishing peer and checking the catches to walking the paved trail that wraps around the park. A great historical area and some of the best beaches on the coast. My favorite thing is to park at the point nearest the pilotboats tower and walk around the...

Every Easter, my husband and I stay in OCMD, but we drive through Rehoboth Beach on the way. This year, after hearing about it from a friend, we decided to stop at Cape Henlopen State Park, too. We were thrilled with our experience!
First, we climbed to the top of one of those old World War II watch towers that...
