This is a place I've been to many times with my kids from toddler-age through preschool. Short, easily-marked trails are fun mini-hikes for the kids and - very important with potty-training children - there are nice clean bathrooms in the facility. Inside the nature center there's a fun room for kids with animal bone specimens they can handle, nature books,...

My sister lives near here, and she brought me to visit while I was staying at her house. I would like to go back again! There are several paths that offer great views and lots of wildlife close-ups as well. If you are into nature, photography, or hiking - this would be a great option for you. The actual nature...

Probably a good stop with kids. There were educational signs and well marked trails but it didn't entertain me and I left after 20 -30 minutes.

A great place to take the kids. 1.5 mile easy loop trail for hikers only. No dogs, bikes or horses on the trail for an easy family outing. Take layers of clothing, it can get cold up there!
Thanks for your review and good advice about being prepared for the weather, especially at this time of year!

The grave of Buffalo Bill is located here as well. If you venture up the twisting/winding road from one direction do the ride full justice and go down the otherside of the mountain....

It was a treat to visit this beautiful facility and its grounds. I only wish we'd have had more time to take a hike. We did, however, spend a great deal of time talking to the friendly workers there. They are really cool people. The building itself is gorgeous, especially the back porch. It would be nice to have this...
