This is a difficult trail but the reward is worth it. Allow yourself a good four hours to fully enjoy the experience. It took my wife and I (we are in our late '60s) one hour and forty five minutes up - and one hour and fifteen minutes down. We took breaks and enjoyed the scenery along the trail. A... More

It's probably been over twenty years since I climbed this trail. My forty-some body doesn't do as well as my twenty- some body did!! It is very rocky and steep. It is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. Totally worth the climb, but consider using hiking poles.

Challenging hike, but our 5 & 6 year old made it with several breaks along the way. The view at the top is well worth the challenge!

I tried to make it to the top but my grandson fell and it was believed he broke it so after making it half way we came back down. The "improved" trail was difficult for this senior citizen but I truly enjoyed all the great people doing the climb with us. I hope to finish the last half this year.... More

A very relaxing view after a long hike up. They now have plenty of benches to sit on to take it all in too. Along the trail up you have options to sit on rocks etc in the shade. Be sure to take water! There are seven bridges the keep crossing the cool stream along the way. DON'T forget to... More

What a beautiful lake. It is so clean and pristine. The waterfalls just bring a special touch to the lake. Let's keep it clean. Follow the rules and let many generations to come to still be able to see this beautiful place.

Beautiful hike all of the way up. Too bad you can't take a dip at the top. Our family has three children under the age of eight and we did not find it so challenging.

A highly recommendable activity for the entirefamily. The hike can be difficult. There are some very steep sections of the trail; highly recommend good sneakers or trail shoes. Hanging Lake is very pretty once at the top. Great place for a Family Holiday Photo!

Challenging but beautiful and worth the effort. Be prepared for slick ice in the Spring. We forgot hiking gear, focusing on Hot Springs activities, so one mile into the hike (3 miles up), we considered the difficulty of making it back down. Disappointing to have to turn around, but it was great excercise and fun.
