Pedestrian is about right. I have a sense that the 16th Street Pedestrian Mall in Denver would like to be as classy as Pearl Street in Boulder. It is NOT. Seemed pretty sketchy but then I am 59.

There is a wide variety of shops and restaurants along several city blocks. You can find anything from cheesy tourist items to more upscale clothing. Restaurants vary from street vendors to modern cuisine.
Watch out as you walk along the sidewalk because the street and sidewalks almost blend together and the shuttle buses that run up and down for free...

Has everything you can really ask for. Parking can get expensive downtown, but it is where everyone is at! 16th Street is a great spot for shopping, movies and entertainment.
What the heck happened? It used to be a nice place to take a walk. Now every time I pass through somebody is in a fight, thugs (or wannabe thugs) patrol around with surly looks on their faces acting like something is about to go down. Time for some serious Police presence on 16th St.
I'm not sure why this area is called a mall. Maybe because it's rated as a pedestrian mall?? Nevertheless. It's a mile long area of shops, shows, and restaurants. It's a great place for people watching. You can ride a bus, walk, take a ride in a horse drawn carriage, a trolley, or just sit on a bench and watch...

Don't come here expecting a super cool pedestrian area. It's pedestrian-friendly, but not super cool. Unlike Boulder's Pearl Street Mall, this place actually looks like the kind of mall we are more familiar with in the US. Bland stores commonly found in shopping malls everywhere--nothing really special. It also smells like pee.
The area is beautiful, but if you plan to do some shopping better look elsewhere. Besides TJ Maxx, the Dressbarn, Rosses, H&M, Forever 21, Victoria Secret, Famous Shoes there was not much more! Very disappointing.
The pulse of the city is not found on the 16th St Mall. The true gems in Denver are found in Washington Park, Capital Hill and the Highlands (among other places). 16 St Mall lacks what makes each of these other neighborhoods great -- charm, unique character and energy. Instead, 16 St Mall is filled (at least in the non-vacant...

A tour bus with three double door opening for the tours and frequent accessibility. It was fun to travel up and down the entire tour route, choose my sight what I wanted to visit, then get off at the second trip, and reboard to return to orgininal place of "tour's beginning."
I am always in depression when I go to the 16th Street Mall. Too many bums and nasty people and extreme crowds. It is dirty, and you can smell urine in the alleys as you walk down the mall areas. They really need to crack down on these serious problems that have gone on way too long! I do love...
