The views are amazing. The drive is scary. Drive slow. Parking can be tough, so go early. You will love it.

Lovely drive to nearly the top of the mountain, and then only couple of hundred meters til the top. We've seen people climbing it wearing flip flops, I would advise to actually get proper shoes before doing so. Rocks on the path and it can get quite slippery.
Folks you can read all the descriptions of this road that you want, but if you really want to know what the road looks like, see my video on YouTube. "Camaro mountain 'fire' run with Jimi" Then have fun. Drive focused.
We just got back from our drive on June 8th! Today there was no fee to get to the top. There are definitely lots of hairpin turns and NO GUARDRAILS, which makes it especially scary if you don't like heights. The road is just amazing. Built just...

We traveled to the summit on opening day and it was an amazing experience! Certain drivers do need to slow down a bit to make it safer for everyone else. Do not hestitate to make this trip!
Mt. Evans is the highest peak I've been on. I don't have the pleasure of living in a mountainous region and this was an absolute adventure. The view of the Rockies on the way to the summit are stunning. Watching the terrain change as you climb in altitude is fascinating. So many different natural wonders are observed during the trip....
