My husband and I have been there many times, sometimes with a friend. Scripts can be from previous centuries so can be pretty corny, which is part of the fun. The cast is always excellent, and performances are done tongue-in-cheek. Audience participation in the form of cheering for the hero/heroine and boo-ing for the villains is encouraged, as is singing...

We go to the Thin Air shows and they are silly, boiserous, and a really good value. The performers staff the box and concessions between acts, so make sure you bring cash because they don't have a credit card machine and don't have to time to help morons like me that didn't know that! Seating is pretty good, it's a...

We purchased tickets to the perfromance of "The Christmas Donkey" thinking it would be fun to get away from the casinos for a little bit. We were amazed by the quality of the performance and the performers! The Butte is a small Opera House for sure but I guarantee you the personality and talent of the performers is not small...

This theatre is well known for putting on old-time melodrama, where the audience gets to boo and hiss at the villian and cheer for the hero. But it doesn't get corny, just fun. Most of the actors are young, but the folks who run the theatre (The Thin Air Theatre Company) are passionate and dedicated to what they do. Following...

We saw the Christmas Donkey as a special holiday treat and we LOVED it! Thin Air Theatre Company produces class-act, quality performances every time. This show was well written, the costumes were great and the talking donkey - hasn't been anything better since Mr. Ed. The olio is a real hoot and I loved the time travel machine! Would recommend...

What fun! I saw Werewolves of Poverty Gulch in mid October 2010. There is a lot of talent on the stage. Great acting and equally great singing. And, James on the piano is outstanding!
This is audience participation at its finest. In addition to cat calls, boos and cheers and a few howls, there is some banter between the actors...

We recently visited Cripple Creek and attended the Butte Theatre and the "Legend of Billy the Kid." Admittedly you must be a fan of live theater to enjoy this type of entertainment because it is a tongue in cheek "drama" where the audience is encouraged to boo and cheer and actively participate. The actors sometimes respond to the audience, which...

We just returned from a vacation in Cripple Creek and went to the Butte Theatre to see the performances of "You're a good man Charlie Brown" and Gun Slinger ( The legend of Billy the Kid) . The theatre was beautiful and fit in with the rustic atmosphere of the town. Ticket prices were very reasonable and the seating was...
